Aamir Jamal came up with a jaw-dropping one-handed catch to dismiss English skipper Ollie Pope as Pakistan got an early breakthrough on Day 2 of the ongoing first Test against England in Multan. In reply to Pakistan’s mammoth total of 556 runs, England lost their skipper for a 2-ball duck as Aamir Jamal took a dive on Naseem Shah’s delivery to stun the visitors during the second day of the Test match. England lost their first wicket at the score of four runs in 1.2 overs. 

While opening the innings along with Zak Crawley, Ollie Pope went on a back foot on a hard length delivery by Naseem Shah. The right-hander then smashed the ball hard towards the right mid wicket. However, Aamir Jamal went on to dive in the direction of the ball and took a one-handed stunner to end the innings of the English skipper. The whole Pakistan side pumped after Jamal’s catch as Pakistan took an upper hand against England in the first Test. 

Pakistan post 556 in first innings, Salman Ali Agha remained unbeaten on 104*

Choosing to bat first after winning the toss, Pakistan took full advantage of a batting friendly surface of the Multan Cricket Stadium. Skipper Shan Masood and Abdullah Shafique made headlines on day one with their respective centuries. Masood top scored with 151(177), while Shafique scored 102(184) runs. After that, Salman Ali Agha took charge on day two as the right-hander remained unbeaten on 104 runs off 119 balls. 

Along with Salman Ali Agha, Saud Shakeel also got out after a well-made 82(177). Pakistan were bowled out for 556 runs in the first innings. In reply to Pakistan’s total, England lost their skipper Ollie Pope for a duck. After that, Zak Crawley (run-a-ball 64) and Joe Root (32 off 54) took the innings forward, as the duo has already added 92 runs for the second wicket by the end of day 2. England are currently at 96/1, with 460 runs behind Pakistan’s total.
