Cricketing fans across the globe witnessed a unique moment in the second T20I in the ongoing series in Dunedin, when the Black Caps speedster Adam Milne, delivered a thunderbolt against the Sri Lankan opener, Pathum Nissanka. The pace of the delivery was so scorching that the Sri Lankan’s willow simply couldn’t withstand it.
Delivering the fifth ball of the opening over, the Kiwi pacer delivered the ball, which jumped off from a good length hitting Nissanka’s bat right under the handle. The blow of the delivery was so hard that the batter’s willow disintegrated right from the handle.
The Sri-Lankan batter was then seen asking for a new bat while those who were on ground or watching the match couldn’t resist but shared some giggles. The commentators, though, took the opportunity to praise the Kiwi speedster for his fast pace and against the opener.
Nissanka took up the next ball and hit a revenge shot as he pulled the pacer for his second boundary. However, the Kiwis managed to dismiss both the openers in the first four overs and got the team a victory in the second T20I at University of Otago Oval. New Zealand had earlier won the Test series by 2-0 and officially eliminated Sri Lanka from the World Test Championship finals in June.
