On Friday, November 8, during the second ODI of the three-match series between Australia and Pakistan at the Adelaide Oval, Mohammad Rizwan was fooled into taking a DRS by Adam Zampa after a hilarious interaction between both the players. After Zampa remarked that Rizwan appeals for everything behind the stumps, the subsequent review turned out to be incorrect from the Pakistan captain, which meant that the right-handed batter survived in the middle.

The incident took place on the fourth ball of the 34th over of Australian innings when Adam Zampa tried to hook the bouncer from Naseem Shah, but he missed the ball before it landed in the gloves of captain Mohammad Rizwan, who made a massive appeal to the umpire. After consulting with the bowler, Rizwan asked Zampa straight up, “You heard something?”

You should take it: Adam Zampa advised Mohammad Rizwan to take DRS

In response, Adam Zampa remarked to Mohammad Rizwan about how he appeals for everything behind the stumps, to which Pakistan captain said, “Can I take it (DRS) now?,” and then, the Australian batter went on to remark, “You should take it.” The impromptu interaction between Zampa and Rizwan sparked a huge laughter in the commentary box before the snicko proved that the ball was nowhere near the bat.

Shortly after, Shaheen Afridi cleaned up Adam Zampa, to help bundle out Australia for just 163 runs in 35 overs after Haris Rauf picked up the second five-wicket haul of his ODI career. In the run chase, openers Saim Ayub (82 off 71) and Abdullah Shafique (64* off 69) stitched together a commanding opening stand of 137 runs before chasing down the target within just 26.3 overs with nine wickets in hand, to level the three-match ODI series 1-1.

The third and deciding ODI of the series will be played at the Optus Stadium in Perth on Sunday, November 10.
