Afghanistan pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi and Bangladesh batsman Najmul Shanto were involved in a heated exchange during the third and final ODI between the two teams in Chattogram on Monday. The incident happened in the third over of Bangladesh's innings, when Farooqi bowled a length ball and Shanto missed the ball.
Farooqi, who is the top wicket-taker in the series was not pleased and offered some words and gestures towards Shanto. Shanto smiled and responded by gesturing that Farooqi should go back to his run-up. The umpires intervened to calm down the situation, but the tension remained high throughout the match.
Farooqi had the last laugh as he removed Shanto on 11 off 15 balls and gave the top-order batsman a proper send-off. Earlier to the wicket, Shanto had hit him for a couple of boundaries but the left-arm redeemed himself.
