The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction resumed on Monday, November 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia after an eventful day on Sunday, November 24. After key players got under the hammer in the first half of the day on Monday, it moved to accelerated process in the second half.

With 208 spots up for grabs, England opener Will Jacks also found himself being called out in the accelerated process. As soon as his name was called out, five-time champions, Mumbai Indians (MI) went all out to bought him, eventually bagging his services for INR 5.25 Crore. 

Akash Ambani gets Will Jacks for INR 5.25 Crore

The England opener, who registered for the base price of INR 2 Crore, caught the attention of Mumbai Indians. The Punjab Kings (PBKS) also joined the bidding war, but with MI looking confident, PBKS dropped out of the race with the Blue and the Gold, securing his services for INR 5.25 Crore. 

After staying adamant in the bid, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) were asked for their final decision as they had Right To Match (RTM) card at their disposal. However, the RCB CEO and the members of the management were quick to decline their decision of using RTM card, Akash Ambani ran to the RCB auction table to appreciate their decision.

Although, Will Jacks was a steal for MI, fans flooded social media bringing in speculations of something fishy going between the two franchises. While a few fans said that the deal was done long before, a few others claimed that this action might hamper the league narratives.
