The ill-tempered Saudi Super Cup clash between Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr turned out to be a severe torment for Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. The Al-Hilal fans rubbed salt into the wounds of Ronaldo as they hurled chants of Argentina superstar “Messi” following a red card to the five times Ballon d’Or winner.
It was during the first half of the game when Ronaldo was given the warning card after his heated argument with the referee on an off-side call. It got worse in the second half of the game when Ronaldo was sent off straight after elbowing opposition defender Ali Al-Bulayhi.
The 39-year-old forward, who has renowned tales of fuming at the officials before, appeared to raise his fist to the referee after receiving a red card as he made his way to the tunnel. During this heated moment, Al-Hilal supporters added drama by continuously hurling chants of “Messi” to mock the Portuguese.

In the Saudi Super Cup game between two Saudi clubs, the hosts Al-Hilal went on to make their way into the finals of the Super Cup in a game involving exchanges and arguments. For the home side, Salem Aldawsari (61’) and Malcom (72’) netted the goals to make an invincible lead in the second half.
Though Nassr’s Sadio Mane did find the back of the net in the 99th minute, it was all over till that moment as they slumped to a 2-1 defeat in the semi-finals.
