On Saturday, February 22, Alex Carey continued to grab eyeballs as he produced some outstanding catches in Australia’s Champions Trophy 2025 opener against England, currently underway at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Carey, who usually dons the wicketkeeping gloves in the Australian colours, took a spectacular catch to dismiss vice-captain Harry Brook.
The moment occurred in the 35th over of the England innings, which was being bowled by Adam Zampa. Coming out to bowl his eighth over in the match, Zampa tossed his very first delivery of the over. Brook, who was on strike, danced down and looked to go over the cover but got outer-half.

Moreover, it was the Australian captain Steve Smith, who won the toss earlier, and decided to field first in conditions looking relatively good for batting at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The decision was made by the Australian team management citing a lot of dew in practice last evening, which could adversely impact the bowlers, more so the spinners.
Speaking of the match, at the end of 38 overs, England had posted 248 runs at the loss of four wickets with Ben Duckett (125 off 115) and Jos Buttler (7 off 12) in the middle. While Ben Dwarshuis picked two in his eight overs, Adam Zampa also got two in his bag in his nine-over spell.
