After putting Atletico Madrid in the lead in the round of 16 clash in the Copa del Rey against Real Madrid, Alvaro Morata went on a run beside the grandstands at the Civitas Metropolitan Stadium to enjoy the goal scoring moment with fans. But, within seconds, upon finding himself beneath a club’s flag, he pulled out a hilarious celebration instead.

The first goal of the pulsating contest between the two city rivals was scored by Samuel Lino of Atletico Madrid in the 39th minute. Although, an own goal from the goalkeeper Jan Oblak in the first half stoppage time brought Real Madrid back into the match at 1-1.
In the second half, Alvaro Morata put Atletico Madrid in a 2-1 lead against his old club in the 57th minute, only to celebrate the goal in a hilarious manner like only he can. Then, it took Real Madrid some time, but they did manage to get the all-important equaliser in the 82th minute through Joselu to make a big comeback with the scoreline 2-2 at full-time.

The extra-time was forced in the knockout clash of the Spanish Cup, which seemed like heading towards the penalties until Antoine Griezmann put Atletico Madrid in a 3-2 lead in the 110th minute. Real Madrid tried to make a comeback into the contest one last time, but after Rodrigo Riquelme scored the fourth goal of the night for the hosts in the 119th minute, they managed to keep their 4-2 advantage intact to book a place in the quarter-final of the Copa del Rey.
