West Indies pacer Alzarri Joseph was seen furious and losing his cool during the first T20I against Australia on Friday, February 9, in Hobart. It came after fielders displayed poor fielding effort which led to a failed catch attempt. Australia hosted Rovman Powell’s West Indies in the first game of the T20I series during the last leg of the multi-format tour of the Caribbean. The hosts won the toss and let the home team put the score on the board.
The incident took place in the 19th over of the Australian innings when they had Tim David and David Warner batting for them. Joseph bowled a full toss and David attempted to hit the delivery for another maximum but ended up hitting it higher than intended. The fielders standing near the boundary on the leg side waited for each other to cover 15 yards and attempt the catch. However, due to the communication gap between them, the ball fell to the ground in no man’s land.
The poor fielding effort left Joseph unhappy with the fielding efforts of his teammates and he stared at them angrily for a few minutes.

The left-handed batter hit 70 runs off 36 deliveries, which included one six and 12 boundaries. Apart from him, Josh Inglis and Tim David also contributed 39 and 37* runs, respectively.
On the guests’ side, Andre Rusell finished with the figures of 3/42, with Jason Holder and Romario Shephard bagging one wicket each.
