The 12th edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) is underway in West Indies. The T20 league has so far seen some intense cricketing action as well as some heated moments. An instance of the same was visible in match number 10 of the tournament, which was played between Saint Lucia Kings and the Guyana Amazon Warriors at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet.
West Indies international, Alzarri Joseph , who is plying his trade for the Saint Lucia Kings in CPL 2024, was once again seen fuming in anger as the opposition, the Guyana Amazon Warriors neared victory. The incident took place in the ninth over with West Indies all-rounder, Shimron Hetmyer and Keemo Paul in the middle.
Alzarri Joseph throws ball at Hetmyer in frustration; latter reacts with a six on next delivery
Chasing a target of 101 runs, the Faf du Plessis-led side recalled the West Indies pacer into the attack. While he conceded only one run from the first three deliveries, he dismissed Azam Khan on the fourth delivery. After Khan’s dismissal, Hetmyer took the guards for the Amazon Warriors. However, he opted for no run on the first delivery, for some unknown reason, Joseph was seen fuming in anger as he grabbed the ball and threw it to hit on the stumps.
Although the Caribbean pacer gave a good stare at Shimron Hetmyer soon after throwing the ball, the latter reacted, smashing the 27-year-old Antiguan cricketer for a massive six over long on, giving a befitting reply to the moment that occurred just moments prior.
