England took down Australia in the third and final T20I game of the women’s Ashes and won the series by 2-1 on July 9, Sunday. On Australia’s side, Ash Gardner hit four boundaries and was batting on 35 in the 14th over. The winning side chased down the 119-run DLS target after a rain-interrupted game with four balls to spare. After England's win, Australia now holds a 6-4 points advantage as they were 6-0 ahead after winning the Test and opening T20I. However, the highlight of the game was the dismissal of Ashleigh Garnder by Amy Jones.

In the 14th over of Australia’s innings when Natalie Sciver-Brunt came to bowl her fifth spell. Brunt bowled a short pitch delivery when Gardner tried advancing down the pitch to hit a shot but in her attempt to hit a top flick, it ended up edging the delivery. Jones, who was standing behind the stumps, took the ball in her hands and took the bails off with her quick reflexes.

Coming to bat first, the Aussies put up the score of 155 runs on the loss of seven wickets in the game played at the Lord’s on Saturday. However, the target for the hosts was later adjusted after rain interrupted the match in the innings interval. Danielle Wyatt led her side’s innings, but she was dismissed after her 15-ball 26 score, followed by the dismissal of Sophia Dunkley, while the team was on 39. 

The series now moves to the ODI format, and the first game will be played at Bristol on Wednesday, July 12.
