Brazilian MMA fighter Andre Lima got Igor Severino’s bite mark tattooed after getting bitten by the latter in the UFC octagon. Lima and Severino made their UFC debut at the recent event UFC Vegas 89 in ‘Dana White’s Contender Series’. In the first round of the contest, Lima appeared to be getting better than Severino and won it on two of three judges’ scorecards.
Losing the opening round didn’t go well with Severino and in the second round, Severino pressed Lima against the cage and bit his arm while holding him from behind. The referee noticed Severino’s move and immediately ended the bout. While Severino got disqualified from the roster, UFC boss Dana White announced a $25k bonus to Lima.
The 38-year-old then decided to make the most of the mark on his arm and went a step ahead to get the mark inked. White was left impressed by his move and announced to double the bonus from $ 25k to $50k. Lima got “I got f*****g bit bonus” written on his arm. Talking about the incident, Severino initially denied biting Lima; however, ended up accepting his action after the visual footage showed something else.
White also confirmed that Severino would be released from the UFC while indicating that disciplinary action could be taken by the Nevada Athletic Commission, which oversaw the event at UFC APEX in Las Vegas.
