The West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell smashed Adam Zampa for four sixes in one over at the Optus Stadium in Perth to get his innings rolling against Australia in the third and final T20I of the series. The 35-year-old scored 71 runs off just 29 balls, which included seven maximums, helping West Indies reach a total of 220/6.

Australia, who have an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series against West Indies, came into the third and final T20I as huge favourites to complete a clean sweep. After Rovman Powell, the captain of the Men in Maroon won the toss and chose to bat first, the Aussies picked up the three of their top order batters inside the first three overs to make their intentions perfectly clear.

Rovman Powell and Roston Chase shared a fourth wicket partnership of 55 runs to bring the West Indies back into the contest before they lost both their wickets in quick succession. Andre Russell, who had walked out to the middle for the Caribbean team at No. 7 in the batting order, got his innings into high gear by putting Adam Zampa, one of the best T20I spinners, over the long-on region with a massive six at the Optus Stadium in Perth.

Russell continued with his onslaught against Zampa, scoring four more maximums off him in the 19th over of the innings, to help West Indies set a massive target of 221 runs for Australia. He shared a 139-run stand for the sixth wicket with Sherfane Rutherford, who stayed not out for 67 off 40 with five fours and five sixes.
