Anthony Edwards, the star guard of the USA basketball team, had a hilarious reaction to a fan’s attempt to distract him during a free throw in the FIBA World Cup game against Greece on Monday. The USA won the game easily, 109-81, at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Edwards was at the line with 3:46 left in the third quarter when a loud shriek echoed in the arena as he released his shot. The ball was perfect and went through the basket effortlessly, but Edwards remained calm and then looked in the direction of the noise and shouted as if to say, “Nice try”.

The fan’s shriek did not bother Edwards, who had a stellar performance in the game. He scored 13 points, including three 3-pointers, and added three assists and two rebounds. He was one of four USA players who scored in double figures as the Americans cruised to a 109-81 victory over Greece. The win improved their record to 2-0 in Group C after they beat New Zealand 99-72 in their opener.

The USA dominated Greece from start to finish, leading by as many as 33 points in the fourth quarter. They shot 57.4 percent from the field and 40.9 percent from beyond the arc while holding Greece to 47.1 percent and 30.4 percent, respectively.

Post the game, Anthony Edwards' teammate, Tyrese Haliburton, who plays for the Indiana Pacers as a point guard, was questioned if the fan’s shrieking was a bigger distraction than the noise of the USA bench. According to BasketNews, the point guard replied, “I'm gonna go with Team USA bench. I think they do a pretty good job over there,”

The USA will face Jordan on Wednesday in their final group-stage game, while Greece will take on New Zealand. The top two teams from each group will advance to the second round of the tournament.
