Indian all-rounder Arshin Kulkarni met his idol, former South Africa player Jacques Kallis. The youngster interacted with the Protean and took his blessings by touching his feet. Kulkarni delivered an impressive performance at the MPL 2023 and with this, he got a call for the U-19 World Cup 2024. The 15th edition of the U19 World Cup is set to be hosted in South Africa from January 2024 to February 2024.
Kulkarni, who has already established himself as a star all-rounder in his age group, received his call for the marquee tournament. During the camp, the 18-year-old got an opportunity to meet and interact with his childhood idol Jacques Kallis, who is known as one of the greatest all-rounders to have played the game. A heartwarming video from their interaction has gone viral all over social media, where the Indian youngster could be seen touching Kallis’ feet. Later, the former Protean legend shook hands with Kulkarni. Needless to say, the video went viral all over social media, gaining likes and comments from several cricket fans.
Talking about Kulkarni’s career, the Solapur-born cricketer is regarded as one of the best all-rounders of his age group and is being called a future star. He was bought by the Indian Premier League franchise Lucknow Super Giants for INR 20 lakh for the forthcoming season.
Kallis, on the other hand, recently opened up on the comeback of Indian stars Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to the T20I format. He said, "I think there has to be a balance between the two. It depends on how you want to go in the tournament and what your game plans are. Experience has a big role for sure.” He also spoke on the recently-concluded multi-format series between South Africa and India and said, "It was a great series, a tough one. Two great sides and they gave their best."
