On Tuesday, May 21, Aryna Sabalenka, the world number two, took to her Instagram stories to post a video of herself dancing with her team at the Roland Garros. The reigning two-time Australian Open champion will be kick-starting her campaign at the French Open from May 26 onwards, aiming to win her first major on clay this summer.
The build-up to the French Open has been quite good for Aryna Sabalenka, who reached the final of the Italian Open last weekend. She lost the big match in straight sets to her arch-nemesis and the world number one from Poland, Iga Swiatek, in straight sets 6-2, 6-3.
These two players also met in the final of the Madrid Open two weeks ago, where Swiatek also defeated Sabalenka in a gruelling three sets with the scoreline reading 7-5, 4-6, 7-6(9-7). Despite losing two consecutive finals in the clay court season, Aryna Sabalenka looked quite upbeat in her preparation for the French Open, taking some time to dance with her team.
Moreover, before arriving in Paris, Aryna Sabalenka visited the paddock at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix on Sunday, May 19. She turned heads with a stylish, custom off-white c/o Virgil Abloh jacket. It had a glittering, roaring tiger, which is the signature animal of the tennis player, along with a tennis ball and her nickname “Saby.”
