Ashutosh Sharma took the internet by his match-winning knock for Delhi Capitals in the sixth match of IPL 2025 against Lucknow Super Giants in Visakhapatnam on Monday, March 24. After DC were reduced to 66/5 chasing 210 runs, Ashutosh came as a savior and stood till the end to finish the match with his knock of 66*(31) runs in the last over. After the match, Ashutosh was also seen celebrating his innings with former cricketer Shikhar Dhawan via video call as shown in a video shared by DC on their social media.
Notably, Ashutosh Sharma made his IPL debut for Punjab Kings last year when Shilkhar Dhawan was captain of the franchise. Dhawan met Ashutosh for the first time during the pre-season camp ahead of IPL 2024. Ashutosh was also impressive while playing for PBKS where he amassed 189 runs from 11 matches at a strike rate of 167.25. After the end of the season, Dhawan also gifted him a bat with which Ashutosh went on to score a hundred in his Ranji debut last year. In a video shared by DC after the match, Ashutosh was seen sharing a moment of joy with Dhawan where the former cricketer congratulating him for a memorable knock.

Ashutosh Sharma was awarded player of the match for his heroics in the last game against Lucknow Super Giants. After receiving the award, Ashutosh said that he wants to dedicate it to his ‘mentor’ Shikhar Dhawan.
“Took the lessons from last year. Missed out on finishing the game on a couple of occasions in the previous season. The whole year I focussed and visualised about it. Had the belief that if I play till the last over, anything can happen. Well played to Vipraj. I asked him to keep hitting. He was very calm under pressure. Want to dedicate this award to my mentor Shikhar paaji,” Ashutosh said in the post-match presentation.
