Australia’s top female athletes sent their best wishes to all-rounder Ellyse Perry for her 300th game for the Kangaroos. Perry is on the verge of playing her 300th game for the side and will achieve the feat if she plays in the second WT20I match of the series on January 7, Sunday. Perry is set to become the first Australian woman to play 300 games for the side. Ahead of Perry’s big day, several top female athletes sent their best wishes to the 33-year-old.

In a video posted by the Australian women’s cricket team, notable names like surfer Sally Fitzgibbons, swimming legend Susie O’Neill, Ariarne Titmus, basketball champion Lauren Jackson and more. Not only this, but the video also featured Liz Ellis, an Australian netball legend, who said, “It’s been terrific watching your career since I first met you when you were a teenager and you just stood out then as an amazing talent not just with your chosen sport. Back them who knew which sport you were going to choose?”

She added, “You were so talented at both football and cricket and also your work ethic and maturity set you apart and destined you for greatness.” The video was captioned, “A true icon! Hear from some Aussie sporting royalty on the incredible impact Ellyse Perry has had on sport in this country.” Earlier, Perry said that she would love to play 400 games for the Aussies.
A day before the 2nd T20I, Perry said, "I'm very much open to whatever pans out in the next little bit for me. I'm absolutely loving the opportunity to be a part of this group still, and I think if I'm in the same phase as I am at the moment, then I'd love to play 400. But I don't think any of us have a crystal ball either, so if that doesn't pan out as well, then I've more than had my fair share of amazing experiences with this group. As long as I can contribute to the team, and it's something that I find really motivating and enjoyable, I'd love to be here.”
