T he Sanju Samson-led Rajathan Royals took on the Punjab Kings in the 27th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh. After winning the toss, the Royals invited the hosts to put the score first on the board.
Led by Sam Curran in the absence of their regular skipper Shikhar Dhawan, the PBKS failed to put a competitive total on the board as they were restricted to 147/8 in their stipulated 20 overs. However, Avesh Khan and Keshav Maharaj had a decent outing with the ball for the RR, clinching two wickets each, the Royals were also involved in some misunderstandings.
Amid many was one between Kuldeep Sen and Sanju Samson. The incident took place in Avesh Khan’s very first over, which resulted in the Indian bowler left fuming at Sen. Khan, who bowled his first and the fourth over of PBKS inning, claimed the wicket of Atharva Taide. During this wicket, while Samson ran from his position claiming for the catch, Sen, who was stationed at short third man also decided to go for it.
However, the catch was successfully completed, both the players were seen escaping a minor collision. Soon after the completion of the catch, Avesh Khan went onto say something in an animated manner, video of which is going viral.
