Indian players were in action against Zimbabwe in the second ODI at the Harare Sports Club on Saturday. Having thumped the home side in the first game, India took the field high on confidence and it was the same old story for both teams. The Indian bowlers completely dominated Zimbabwe as they restricted the team to a mere 161 and the target was chased down easily by the batters.
Indian fielders also chipped in as there were two run-outs in the Zimbabwe innings. There were some good saves in the outfield as well. However, there was an incident that took away all the limelight. Ishan Kishan mistakenly hit Axar Patel while throwing the ball to the wicketkeeper from the outfield. In the 28th over of the Zimbabwe innings, Kishan was normally returning the ball to the wicketkeeper after collecting it but instead, he hit Patel who was fielding at short midwicket.

Axar was also trying to save himself as he covered his head with his hands. But the ball somehow hit him on his torso. While a few Indian players along with Kishan found it a bit funny, Patel was not pleased with it at all. He was seen gesturing and also muttering a few words at Kishan.

If not Chahar then Shardul!
Coming to the match, Indian bowlers were once again on fire as they bowled out the opposition in 38.1 overs. While it was Deepak Chahar who wreaked havoc with the new ball in the first ODI, it was Shardul Thakur, his replacement, who accounted for three Zimbabwe batters. Thakur got rid of Innocent Kaia, captain Regis Chakabva, and Luke Jongwe in his spell of seven overs. Meanwhile, Mohammed Siraj drew the first blood for India as he dismissed Takudzwanashe Kaitano in the 9th over. Prasidh Krishna, Axar Patel, Deepak Hooda and Kuldeep Yadav also took a wicket each.
