Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam dropped an easy catch of English batter Joe Root. On Day 4 of the Multan Test between Pakistan and England, Azam dropped an absolute dolly which gave Root a reprieve and he went on to score a double century. Notably, England are touring Pakistan for a three-match Test series, which began on October 7 in Multan. Home skipper had won the toss and invited the guests to field first. On a batting-friendly pitch of Multan, Pakistan posted a mammoth total of 556 in 149 overs.
On Day 4 of the game, Joe Root resumed on 176 and just when he was on 186, Pakistan missed an opportunity of dismissing the batter. In the fourth over of the day, Root played a pull shot off a short-of-length delivery from Naseem Shah, which went straight to Babar Azam. The former Pakistan captain positioned at mid-wicket, could have easily taken the catch but he inexplicably fumbled and dropped the ball, giving a reprieve to Root on 186.
