After getting bowled out for only 186, the Indian bowling attack made a game out of nothing. While Deepak Chahar drew the first blood, Washington Sundar struck twice to send back well-set Litton Das and Shakib Al Hasan. Although luck favoured the bowlers, Sundar bowled tight lines to trap the two batters. Shardul Thakur and Mohammed Siraj also bowled brilliantly.
Meanwhile, debutant Kuldeep Sen bagged two wickets to help India beat Bangladesh. Sen got Afif Hossain caught at Third man for his first-ever wicket in international cricket while his second wicket came on the back of a mistake from the batter. Sen’s second scalp was Ebadot Hossain who stepped onto his stumps.
As Indian bowlers including Sen were breathing fire in the middle, Hossain was deep-rooted in his crease. Meanwhile, Sen kept pushing the batter further inside as he bowled at sheer pace. As a result, on one instance, when Sen pitched the ball on the short-of-good-length, Hossain tried to nudge it away. In the process, he lost track of his foot and stepped on his stumps to get adjudged out hit wicket.

Back-to-back wickets opened the door wide for India as Rohit Sharma and Co. sniffed a win. But Mehidy Hasan Miraz was not ready to give up. The Bangladesh all-rounder frustrated India as he kept the fans' hope alive with timely boundaries. Miraz also got a couple of reprieves as KL Rahul dropped a dolly and Sundar did not go for a potential catch.
India kept erring in the middle and Miraz continued to capitalize on those mistakes. He stitched a partnership with Mustafizur Rahman to take the game away from India. Eventually, it was a win for Bangladesh as the Tigers chased the total with one wicket in hand. Mehidy Hasan was the hero for Bangladesh.
