Spanish giants Barcelona had to settle with a 3-3 draw against  Internazionale Milan on Wednesday night in their fourth UEFA Champions League 2022-23 group stage fixture. Barca took the lead before halftime, but centre-back Gerard Pique made a wrong judgement and gifted Inter an equalizer in the early stages of the second half.

Barcelona forwards Ousmane Dembele scored the opener in the 40th minute by finishing an impressive team effort that involved Raphinha and Sergi Roberto. Robert Lewandowski scored a brace to help the Catalan giants settle with a draw.

After beginning the second half on a 1-0 lead, Barcelona defender Gerard Pique made a costly mistake that allowed Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella to score the equalizer in starting five minutes of the second half. Inter left-back Alessandro Bastoni placed a cross into the box as Pique, who could've headed it away, left the ball thinking there's no one behind. But Barella was spot on with his subtle touch and guided the ball past goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Watch the crazy blunder by Pique:

After the game, Barcelona head coach Xavi Hernandez said, "It was too many mistakes, their first goal was a clear mistake by our defence, we let them have too many chances. Football is a game of mistakes, and we can't afford those in situations like this."

Gerard Pique's, who made his fourth start of the season across all competitions, blunder helped Inter open their goal scoring followed by Lautaro Martinez's 63' goal that gave the lead to the visitors. Lewandowski scored the equalizer for Barcelona in the 82nd minute before Robin Gosens again gifted the lead to Inter with just one minute remaining in the regular time.

Former Bayern Munich striker then struck his second and Barca's third goal two minutes into the stoppage time to help his side avoid a second loss and relegation to the UEL.  If Inter Milan beat Viktoria Plzen in their next fixture, Barcelona will have to feature in the Europa League for the second consecutive season.
