Bayern Munich and England star Harry Kane has recently signed a lifetime global deal with Skechers, becoming the face of the brand's first-ever football boots. The American company, which is known for its casual and performance footwear, has entered the football category with a bang, adding one of the most popular and influential players in the sport to its growing roster of athletes.
The 28-year-old has entered a long-term partnership with Skechers that extends beyond the pitch. He will also be featured as a brand ambassador in a multi-platform marketing campaign, that will showcase his skills, leadership, and personality. The campaign will include TV, print, digital, and social media ads, as well as in-store and online activations.
Kane, who is widely regarded as the world’s best striker, has been wearing a masked version of the new Skechers Football boots, SKX_01, throughout the preseason and in his debut game for Bayern Munich. He will wear the complete version of the boot for the first time on Friday night when Bayern face Werder in the Bundesliga opener.
"It’s definitely a time of transition in my career, and I’m thrilled to announce my signing with Skechers just as I’m making a big move," said Harry Kane. "Ever since meeting the design team and seeing the boots for the first time, I felt confident that Skechers was onto something special. I’ve been wearing the boots for weeks, scoring in them in preseason."

We’ve been developing Skechers Football boots for some time and as we perfected the design, we enlisted players to test them and offer feedback—including one of the best on the pitch, the great Harry Kane," said Michael Greenberg, president of Skechers. "Harry had the entire football world following his every move over the last few weeks and his determination, skill, and leadership align perfectly with our plans for the sport.”
Kane left Nike, with whom he had a long-standing relationship, to shift to a brand that has not made a pair of football boots until this one. Neymar Jr, Bukayo Saka, and Robert Lewandowski are a few athletes who have switched from Nike to companies like New Balance, Adidas, and Puma. After the 2018 World Cup, Kane was expected to extend his contract with Nike, but negotiations were apparently put on hold because the American company was more interested in signing Erling Haaland first.
