The fielding standards in the Big Bash League 2022/23 have been extremely high with fans witnessing incredible catches nearly every game. Adding another brilliant catch to this list,  all-rounder Ben Cutting held on to a stunner on the third-man boundary against the Sydney Sixers.

Brendan Doggett sent out an average delivery wide of the off stump which James Vince tried to slice for a six. But here Cutting precisely leapt up and managed to complete an incredible catch just inside the ropes. The catch was extremely important as the Thunder are defending a low total of 133 runs and helped dismiss one of the best batters in the league.

Despite this incredible effort, the Thunder failed to contain their city rivals as Sixers registered a seven-wicket win. The top performers of the chase were Moises Henriques and Jordan Silk, who scored half-centuries.  Henriques ended up with 53 runs while Silk top-scored with a score of 59. 

But the Player of the match award was given to fast bowler Sean Abbott, who took three wickets while giving away nine runs in his four overs. The Aussie speedster dismissed top batters like Alex Hales and  Oliver Davies on zero. Then back to take down Thunder captain Chris Green for the score of two. 

Another top performer with the ball was Ben  Dwarshuis, who picked up two wickets while giving away 28 runs in his four overs. While  Chris Jordan, Todd Murphy and Hayden Kerr each picked up a wicket.
