After Ben Duckett had his moment by hitting six boundaries in an over and being the highest scorer for Melbourne Stars, James Vince replied with an unbeaten century as Sydney Sixers registered their third consecutive win in the ongoing BBL season and remained at the top of the points table. With this, Vince also became the second player from Sydney Sixers after Steve Smith to hit a century in the BBL.
Chasing the winning target, Sydney Sixers got a convincing start as Josh Philippe and James Vince put up an opening partnership of 83 runs in eight overs. Philippe got out after scoring a quickfire 42 runs off 23 balls with four fours and two sixes. After that, Vince remained unbeaten 101 runs off 58 balls with 12 fours and four sixes. Along with him, Jordan Silk also gave finishing touches with 34(19) runs as Sydney Sixers chased the winning total with eight wickets in hand in 18.1 overs.
