England skipper Ben Stokes scored a century on the fifth and final day of the second Ashes 2023 Test at Lord’s in London. The 32-year-old hit his 13th Test hundred by hitting three consecutive maximum off Cameron Green’s deliveries in the 56th over. With this, Stokes has become the first batter to complete a hundred by hitting three consecutive sixes for the second time.

Needless to say, the 141-ball hundred smashed by Stokes changed the course of the game in England’s favour, whose six batters were dismissed under 200 before Stokes decided to take control of the match.

Stokes' side needed 271 runs on the fifth day of the second Test with only six wickets in hand. Stokes came to team's rescue when they lost their opener Ben Duckett (83) and Jonny Bairstow (10) in the morning session. The English skipper captain was batting on 62 off 126 when Jonny Bairstow. Stokes hit his 13th Test 100 in the next runs, which seemed nothing less than a revenge of Bairstow's controversial run.

By the lunch, England were 243-6 with Stokes not out at 108, and still needed 128 runs to reach the target of 371 and levelling the series 1-1.
