On Tuesday, May 7, Borussia Dortmund reached the final of the UEFA Champions League (UCL) after defeating Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 (2-0 on aggregate) in the semi-final second leg. The win sparked a major celebration from the Borussia Dortmund players and coaching staff with their fans, who were seated at the away end of the Parc des Princes in Paris.
Borussia Dortmund had arrived at the Parc des Princes with a 1-0 lead, which was acquired in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final at the Signal Iduna Park last weekend through a goal from Niclas Fullkrug. In the second leg, Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain put on a top quality football game for the fans watching all over the world.
Mats Hummels scored the vital goal through a header in the 50th minute, unmarked inside the box, to put Borussia Dortmund 2-0 on aggregate. From that point onwards, Paris Saint-Germain kept pushing for the elusive goal to make a comeback in the tie, but they could only manage to hit the post on multiple occasions rather than finding the back of the net.

Following their 2-0 aggregate win in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) semi-final, Borussia Dortmund took a dig at Paris Saint-Germain with a post on their official X account. The BVB quoted a PSG post, in which they had celebrated their win against them in the UCL round of 16 from four years ago, with the caption “Tastes like fine wine.”
The thoughts from Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic after the win read, “Extremely proud. I’m very happy. We beat a team like PSG two times, and we again kept a clean sheet. We started really well and kept them away from the goal.”
