Luka Modric scored a brilliant stunner to help Real Madrid register a 4-1 victory against Celta Vigo on Saturday. After both teams exchanged early penalty goals, Modric took control and just before half-time, the Croatian gave Madrid the crucial lead to go into the interval with a magical curler from 20 yards out.

David Alaba passed the ball towards Modric from the left flank. The Croatian then dribbled the ball towards sent while avoiding a few Celta defenders and pulled the trigger as the ball glided in the back of the net. Vinicius Jr. and Federico Valverde scored in the second half to secure the three points.
Then at the 77th minute of the match, Luka Modric was serenaded for his efforts as the Celta Vigo fans gave him a standing ovation as the Croatian was subbed out.

After the game, Modric thanked the fans for their applause as he said, "It's a beautiful thing. It makes me very happy when the fans recognise your work. I can only thank them."
Los Blancos manager Carlo Ancelotti also showered praise for Modric and talked about how his magical goal was the turning point in the fixture. He said, "He's immortal. Luka is always ready, he's always prepared, he always plays well. The goal he scored changed the game. Until the goal the game was even, competitive, Celta pressed us well, it was hard for us in possession. In the second half, they dropped their intensity, and we played the ball out well from the back and our transitions were spectacular."
