On Sunday, May 5, Chelsea paid a tribute to Abhradeep Saha aka Angry Rantman, one of the most passionate fans of the club, at Stamford Bridge after his untimely passing last month. The precious moment happened at half-time during Chelsea’s Premier League match against their London rivals West Ham United, which they ended up winning 5-0.
It has been reported that Abhradeep Saha had undergone open heart surgery at the Narayana Cardiac Hospital in Bengaluru in April. But, it led to him suffering multiple organ failure before being put on the life support system, and shortly after, he died in the hospital.
Chelsea pays tribute to Angry Rantman at Stamford Bridge
Before taking on West Ham United in their Premier League match at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea wrote a few words about Angry Rantman in their information guide, which went like this, “Abhradeep Saha, aka, AngryRantman, Chelsea's passionate YouTube voice, fell silent. He tugged the hearts of millions with his fiery rants, infectious energy and dark humour. A die-hard Blue forever.”
Tom Overend, who played a key role in getting the tribute organised for Abhradeep Saha at Stamford Bridge, with permission from the parents of the deceased, posted a video on X about it. He captioned the post, “Tribute to Abhradeep Saha at Stamford Bridge. Really thankful to the club for this”.
Moreover, Chelsea were at their imperious best against West Ham United, scoring five goals in front of their home fans. Nicholas Jackson got a brace, while Cole Palmer, Conor Gallagher, and Noni Madueke scored one goal each.
