But, the epic display of power hitting from him wasn’t enough for Chennai Singhams, who lost to Majhi Mumbai by 21 runs in a high-run chase.

In pursuit of the 150-run target, the second over of Chennai Singhams innings saw Ketan Mhatre take on Vijay Pawle of Majhi Mumbai brutally. He peppered both sides of the field at the Dadoji Kondadev Stadium in Thane, hitting sixes at will, to put his team well on their way to chasing the big total down.
The power-hitting from Ketan Mhatre continued till the sixth over of the Chennai Singhams innings before he lost his wicket to Bashrat Hussain Wani, with Ravi Gupta taking the catch. He scored 60 off 21, an innings with nine sixes and no fours. After the dismissal of Khetan Mhatre, Majhi Mumbai kept picking up wickets at regular intervals to restrict Chennai Singhams to 128/9 in their innings.
Earlier in the match, Majhi Mumbai put up the highest total of the ISPL 2024 thus far, reaching 149/5 in their allotted 10 overs. Abhishek Kumar Dalhor and Vijay Pawle were the chief contributors in their Majhi Mumbai innings, scoring quick-fire 40s each, to put the opposition Chennai Singhams on the back foot.
