New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra was picked up by Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2024 auction in Dubai. The defending IPL champions paid a great price of INR 1.8 Crore. Ravindra burst onto the scene with a brilliant ODI World Cup 2023 in India.
Starting the tournament as a replacement for Kane Williamson, the left-handed top-order batter scored a stunning 123 in 96 balls with 11 fours and five sixes. He continued this stellar form throughout the tournament with a tally of 578 runs with three centuries.

During the auction, teams like Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals went for Rachin Ravindra. The Super Kings were adamant about bringing in the young Kiwi and beat the Punjab Kings to sign Ravindra for a price of INR 1.8 crore.
Following the New Zealand all-rounder, Chennai Super Kings also picked up Indian fast bowler Shardul Thakur at a price of INR 4 crore.
