Sri Lankan coach Chris Silverwood had a furious reaction as off-spinner Maheesh Theekshana dropped the Player of the Match Luke Jongwe in the final over as Zimbabwe won the second T20I by four wickets. This second fixture in the three-game T20I series was a thriller with the Chevrons chasing 178.

After veteran batter Craig Ervine's 70 in 54 balls,  Zimbabwe was struggling to chase the tricky total with 20 required off the final over. But after Angelo Mathews started the final over with a no-ball six, four and six, the Zims were in the driver's seat. Here the Sri Lankan veteran managed to find a dot before  Jongwe mistimed his shot and lofted the ball towards  Theekshana for a simple catch.

Unfortunately for the Lankas, the Chennai Super Kings star couldn't hold onto the catch and allowed  Luke Jongwe to smash a last ball six and seal the win. Reacting to this drop,  Sri Lankan coach Chris Silverwood was enraged as he threw his diary on the floor.

Coming back to Luke Jongwe, the right-arm speedster started decently with figures of 2-32 in two overs. Then with the bat, the 28-year-old smashed Mathews for six, four, six and six to finish off an incredible win. Talking about this performance,  Jongwe was in shock as he said, " I don't think I have enough voice to describe what happened tonight, really happy for all my teammates. For the past 3 months, I have been practicing these situations wanting to finish games for my country and grateful to God and glad that it came off today."

"The wicket was a bit on the trickier side and we thought of restricting them to 130 and credit to Mathews and Asalanka, they batted really well and got the score over 170. At the halfway stage, we thought we had a chance and gave it a shot and I'm glad that we could get off the line."
