On the latest edition of WWE SmackDown from The O2 in London, an emotional Paul Heyman broke the news to CM Punk that he will be main-eventing WrestleMania for the first-time in his professional wrestling career this year, at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Upon hearing that, CM Punk soaked in the moment before he shed tears in front of thousands of passionate fans in London, who were chanting “You deserve it”.

The incredible moment involving Paul Heyman and CM Punk happened during the contract signing for a triple threat match at WrestleMania 41, wherein the latter will take on Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. The three of the biggest WWE superstars in the modern era are embroiled in an intense battle with one another over the past few months, but their story began way back in 2012, when CM Punk helped introduce the faction called The Shield, which had Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns along with Dean Ambrose.

CM Punk thanked London, Chicago and rest of WWE Universe for making his dream a reality

It was after CM Punk made his way inside the ring at The O2, he started going through the terms and conditions of the contract, but his slowness irritated Roman Reigns, who told his wiseman Paul Heyman to straighten up the situation. “You are closing the show at WrestleMania. You get to live your dream of all dreams. CM Punk, you are a WrestleMania main eventer," said an emotional Paul Heyman to his former disciple before kissing him on his head in sheer affection.

This led to Seth Rollins throwing a fit, while Roman Reigns was beside himself as CM Punk wiped tears off his face before thanking London, Chicago, Louisville, and the WWE Universe as a whole. Afterwards, Reigns told Punk to thank him for main-eventing WrestleMania for the first-time in his career, which he surprisingly did before telling him and Heyman to their faces that it isn’t the favour they owe to him.

With this blockbuster announcement, it is expected that CM Punk will close out Night 1 of WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas since the highly anticipated Undisputed WWE Championship match between Cody Rhodes and John Cena is going to put down the curtain on the showcase of the immortals on Night 2.
