After UFC President Dana White announced former two-division champion Conor McGregor's highly-anticipated return to the octagon in the main event of UFC 303 on June 29 against Michael Chandler, ESPN released a promo hyping the Irishman's comeback. Conor McGregor last fought in the UFC in the summer of 2021, breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier.
During the UFC 300 post-fight press conference, Dana White revealed that McGregor will finally get the chance to compete against Chandler in a five-round bout at 170 pounds, to cap off the International Fight Week at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
After recovering from the leg injury he sustained during the loss against Poirier at UFC 264, Conor has been planning and plotting his return inside the octagon. ESPN MMA recently released a promo stimulating Conor McGregor's long-awaited UFC comeback.

Apart from McGregor, his opponent Michael Chandler last fought at UFC 281 in November 2022 and lost to the same fighter as Conor, Dustin Poirier. Apart from Conor and Chandler's fight, the UFC 303 will also feature a light heavyweight bout between Jamahal Hill and Khalil Rountree Jr.
