Ravindra Jadeja, the premier all-rounder of Chennai Super Kings, has been amongst the news a lot recently, for both on and off the field reasons. Entire social media has been speculating a potential rift between captain Dhoni and Jadeja, ever since the latter posted a cryptic tweet on his Twitter account.
On May 23, after Chennai defeated Gujarat in the Qualifier 1 of the Indian Premier League 2023 by 15 runs, the team CEO Kasi Vishwanathan was spotted having an impassioned talk with Ravindra Jadeja. A Twitter user posted the video of both gentlemen having a discussion, just as everyone around them got ready for the post-match presentation.
The tweet has now gone viral on social media with fans going back and forth about whether Jadeja will stay with CSK for the next IPL season or not.
For the unversed, Ravindra Jadeja gave a fantastic all-round performance as Chennai Super Kings defeated Gujarat Titans to become a record 10-time IPL finalists. With the bat, he scored 22 runs off 16 deliveries, including a couple of fours. But the biggest impact the 34-year-old made on the game was with the ball in hand. He picked up the prize scalps of David Miller and Dasun Shanaka during his four-over spell which yielded only 18 runs for the opposition.
Meanwhile, earlier in the evening, Chennai Super Kings put up a very good score of 172/7 on the board to defend at Chepauk. Ruturaj Gaikwad was the star with the bat for the 4-time IPL champions as he smashed 60 runs off 44 deliveries, including seven fours and one six.
In their bowling effort, CSK were clinical from start to finish under the astute leadership of captain MS Dhoni. They didn’t let any GT batter settle at the crease and picked up wickets regularly. In the end, the Super Kings bowled out the Titans for 157 runs to reach yet another final in the Indian Premier League.
