Technology has been a blessing for most of us and similarly it has helped the sports to evolve over the years. Speaking of cricket, DRS has been widely discussed and debated inclusion in the game of cricket. Despite questions keep on raising over its accuracy, DRS has proven to be a savior for many cricketers.

During the first one-day international between Australia and Zimbabwe, the use of DRS once again saved the life of a prolific Australian batter who earlier left the crease anticipating his dismissal. The 35-year-old Australian opener David Warner became the victim of a goof-up before DRS saved his life in the middle. In response to Zimbabwe's 200, Australian openers started well as they added 43 runs for first wicket before Aaron Finch (15 off 21) was dismissed by Richard Ngarava in the 7.3 overs.

In the 17th overs of the second innings, Zimbabwe spinner Sikandar Raza bowled a bouncer and narrowly missed the outside edge of Warner's gloves. But visitors were convinced of the edge and went for with a loud appeal, to which the on-field umpire Rod Tucker denied their appeal, but Zimbabwe skipper decided to go for the review.

Looking at the convincing appeal from Zimbabwe players, Warner also felt of an outside edge and started walking off the field. But DRS review came as a breather for the Australian batter as neither Hotspot nor Snicko showed any signs of a spike. Third umpire delivered the verdict in the favour of Warner and the batter came back the crease to later complete his 25th ODI half-century off 57 deliveries.

However, Sikandar Raza got his man in the 23rd over as Warner missed a full delivery that slammed into his middle stump, bringing an end to his innings of 55 runs.

Speaking of the game, Aaron Finch-led side comfortably won the game by five-wickets as they chased down 201/5 in 33.3 overs. David Warner (57 off 66) and Steve Smith (48 off 80) were the two highest run-getters for hosts, while Cameron Green and Adam Zampa picked five and three wickets in the first innings. Cameron Green was awarded with Player of the Match for his incredible bowling spell.
