The England - Sri Lanka fixture has got off to an entertaining start with quality cricket from both teams. But in the 14th over something unfortunate happened.

England's top-order batter Dawid Malan, positioned at point, tweaked his groin as he ran to stop Bhanuka Rajapaksa's shot. Malan pulled his groin muscle and probably suffered an injury as he immediately walked off the field after signalling his pain to the England dressing room.

Despite this injury scare, the England team continued their stranglehold on the Sri Lankan batters and restricted them to a total of 141. Mark Wood was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets while giving away 26 runs.

Whereas leg spinner Adil Rashid was the most economical bowler for the Three Lions as he gave away just 16 runs in his four overs. Reacting to his team's first-innings performance, Rashid talked about how England managed to comeback after a slow start to get back the favourite's tag in this fixture.

He said, "They got off to a good start, but we came back strong, we stuck to our strengths. They were going well (in the powerplay), but that's T20 cricket, things can change very quickly. These conditions have been slow as compared to the other grounds, but we have to adapt quickly."

"I work hard in the nets, sometimes I bowl well, sometimes not so. Hopefully, we can do well as a team. It's a big second innings for us, hopefully, we'll be able to come out and chase it down."
