Denver Nuggets defeated Miami Heat 94-89 in Game 5 to win the 2023 NBA Finals 4-1 on Monday night at the Ball Arena. I n the franchise's history, the Nuggets won their first-ever NBA championship while star center Nikola Jokic was named the Finals MVP. The celebrations began after Denver won their maiden NBA title and the 26-year-old Serbian appeared to throw his teammate Jamal Murray into the pool d uring the championship celebration.
The Nuggets center, Nikola Jokic created history in many aspects as he become the first player in the franchise's history to win the Bill Russell Trophy while he averaged 30 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 9.5 assists to become the first player in NBA history to lead the playoffs in total points, rebounds, and assists.

Talking about the celebrations, a video clip has gone viral where the Nuggets' center can be seen taking hold of star guard Jamal Murray and jumping him into the pool with Murray. After taking a dip, Jokic appeared to call his other teammates into the pool as Aaron Gordon jumped into the pool joining the duo.

With his NBA Finals MVP award, Nikola Jokic becomes only the sixth player born outside the 50 U.S. states to win Finals MVP. During the post-game interaction, Jokic was asked about his feeling to become an NBA champion and the Serbian responded, " It’s good, it’s good. The job is done now. We can go home now." While asked about a potential celebration parade, Jokic weighed in on going home, taking some rest, and spending most of his offseason with his family.
