Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni played only seven balls in the first match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 and he piled up 14 runs off them. Dhoni also hit a gigantic six to score those 14 runs.
In the last over of CSK's innings, Joshua Little was handed the ball by Hardik Pandya to stop Mitchell Santner and MS Dhoni. The Ireland pacer tried his best but he had the world cricket’s best finisher in front of him. Dhoni was in the mood to deposit everything into the stand and he managed to do it on the third ball of the last over.
As Little bowled a good length delivery on the middle stump, Dhoni settled himself in the crease. The CSK skipper went back a tad and took his time before playing a swipe towards the square. As the connection was as sweet as it could get, the ball landed in the stands and the fans could only cheer for it.
