In a moment of misfortune for the Rajasthan Royals, wicketkeeper-batter  Dhruv Jurel was taken off the field after he injured his hamstring while fielding against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. In a clash between two of the top teams in IPL 2024, RR and SRH were locking horns for the first time this season where Hyderabad had a topsy-turvy start as they scored runs at a decent rate while Rajasthan continued picking up wickets at regular intervals.

But after the fall of the second wicket which made way for Nitish Reddy, SRH changed gears as they took on the spinners. Recently selected in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup 2024, Yuzvendra Chahal also fell victim to this onslaught as Reddy and Head combined to score 18 in the ninth over.

But on the last ball of this over, the Aussie southpaw whipped Chahal through the mid-wicket for a boundary. In an attempt to stop this shot, Jurel sprinted towards the ball but pulled back as he hurt his hamstring. Soon, the India international was taken off the field and looked extremely hurt.

We play IPL, domestic cricket to get into the Indian team: Chahal

Ahead of the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Yuzvendra Chahal talked about his selection for the T20 World Cup 2024. He said, "We play IPL, domestic cricket to get into the Indian team and that's my biggest achievement. I think I played there (West Indies and USA) last July, but when I was out of the Indian team; I played domestic T20s and cricket keeps going on. SRH are playing well especially all their batters from the top to number 7, it will be a challenge here."

"I have played 40-45 matches at the Chinnaswamy, so the fear is not there (of getting hit) and if you bowl your best ball, it will be enough for any batter. They say it is a batters game but this is a team game, you reach the top when 7-8 players do well in every game."
