But the spectacle these two teams created was more than worthy of a World Cup final. It was a back-and-forth struggle, with each blow followed by an equally violent counterpunch that kept the outcome in doubt until the very end.
Virat Kohli showed his vintage batting skills with 76 runs in the final match. Similarly, Jasprit Bumrah (18/2) and Hardik Pandya (20/3) played an equally instrumental role in helping team India win the final game. Chasing 176 runs, the South African team fought hard till the end but ended up losing the match by 7 runs. It was the most heartbreaking moment for the SA team and its fans.
