Reason behind Cavs-Nets matchup in Paris
The Cavs-Nets matchup in Paris would be a dress rehearsal with the venue, the Accor Arena, set to stage the Paris 2024 Olympic basketball finals in July and August. The NBA Paris Game 2024 will feature the 2023 USA Basketball Team members Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson from the Nets while Cleveland's Donovan Mitchell, Jarrett Allen, and Darius Garland could also appear for the Team USA at the Paris Olympics.
Apart from that, the Nets will be playing their second regular season game in Paris following their 2008 match while this will be the Cavs' first game in Europe. “We are extremely honored as an organization to showcase the Cleveland Cavaliers in Paris,” said Cavs President of Basketball Operations Koby Altman in a prepared statement.
