Minnesota Timberwolves are on the verge of Conference Semifinals elimination with the side suffering a hat-trick of defeats against the Dallas Mavericks in the series. The losses have mostly revolved around Karl-Anthony Towns’ lack of putting the shots. However, NBA on TNT crew threw shade on Anthony’s claims after the game that he is getting up more than 1500 shots per day.
Following the defeat, Towns opened up on his difficulty putting up the high shots and stated it had nothing to do with the lack of effort from his side. He claimed that he is doing fine in the Gym sessions and working on his shots, racking up to 1500 shots per day. He said, “I’m putting up to 1500 shots a day and shot so well all playoffs, confidence extremely high. To be having these unfortunate bounces and these looks that are just not going in is tough. It’s tough for sure.”
Following the game, experts in the TNT postgame show sat out to look out on Towns’ comments and his 1500 shots every day. Draymond Green asked Ernie Johnson after the clip was aired and said, “Do you know what ‘cap’ is?” Furthermore, Smith went on to break down his claims and said it was outlandish.
It was the third straight defeat for the Towns in the Finals and one more defeat will pave the way for the elimination from the contest. They will go up against the Mavericks on Tuesday night in Game 4 at the American Airlines Center, Dallas.
