On June 17, Saturday, the England football team was stuck on arrival at an airport in Malta, after their Air Horizont Boeing 737-400 plane took a wrong turn and went off runway 31 upon landing. With that, the flight #HAT1460 from Birmingham, England to Malta ended up on taxiway “G,” blocking the main runway of the airport for about 30 minutes.

This incident gave the English representatives no choice but to delay a planned press conference of players and coaching staff with the Maltese media.

Notably, the concerned authorities at the airport took stock of the situation first and foremost, before using technical assistance to tow the plane away from the main runway. It was helpful to ensure that the England players don’t lose more time before reaching Ta' Qali National Stadium to play their UEFA Euro Qualifiers match against the host nation Malta.
