Indian cricketing stalwart Jhulan Goswami hangs up her boots after an illustrious 20-year career. After making her debut in January 2002, she went on to become one of the biggest stars in women’s cricket. Celebrating this journey, sports from across the world have showered in with some heartfelt messages for the 39-year-old.

Similarly, the England women’s team also present Goswami with a special tribute as they gave her a guard of honour as she came into bat. The video of this gesture was posted on the England Cricket Twitter account with a message thanking the Chakda express for her immense contribution to cricket.

The tweet said, “For over 20 years Jhulan Goswami has run in, hit a length and blazed a trail.  She has bowled nearly 10,000 balls in ODI cricket, and she may just have inspired as many young girls to try cricket. Thanks, @JhulanG10, you’re an inspiration."

Unfortunately for Jhulan Goswami, her farewell batting ended with a golden duck as she was cleaned up by Freya Kemp with a fullish ball that nipped back in off the seam after pitching. Goswami got a standing ovation from her teammates and the roaring crowd at the Lord’s Stadium as she walked back to the pavilion.
