Although Real Madrid were able to keep the current UCL season's top scorer, Erling Haaland out of the scoresheet, Pep Guardiola's Manchester City held defending champions 1-1 at the iconic Santiago Bernabeu. However, Erling Haaland's father Alfie Haaland, who is a former Manchester City right-back or midfielder, was escorted out of the stadium's corporate box for allegedly throwing food at the home fans.
Manchester City displayed a tremendous performance to hold the 14-time champions on a draw in an away game as star forward Vinicius Jr. found the back of the nets with 10 minutes remaining in the first half. However, it was Kevin de Bruyne's masterclass that helped the Citizens to level the game in the second half.
Reports claimed that Halaand's father threw peanuts at the Real Madrid fans and insulted them, which led to the outburst by the home crowd and security had to intervene. The security guards escorted Haaland's father out of the stadium while the fans shouted, "Adios."

Later, Alfie Haaland took to his Twitter handle and revealed the real reason for his exit, which didn't include throwing food at fans. The 50-year-old believed that the Madridistas were not happy when the away team equalised and it led to his departure. He quoted a fan account claiming Haaland's father threw peanuts at fans and wrote, "Ok. I did not. Not true. We had some good banter with Madrid fans. They were not happy when City scored. Typical. Then we had to move 50 meters away. Nothing more. All happy. Well nearly…😉"
Meanwhile, the Italian giants AC Milan and Inter Milan will square off against each other in the UCL 2022-23 semifinal on Wednesday night at the San Siro stadium. While the Nerazzurri have already won the Supercoppa Italiana and are in the Coppa Italia finals against Fiorentina this season, the Rossoneri have failed to win a trophy this season across competitions and this could be their only chance to win a title this season.
