Manchester City and Norway striker Erling Haaland has been announced as a new playable character in one of the world's most downloaded mobile games, Clash of Clans. The Finnish mobile strategy video game has ruled the mobile gaming space since its launch in 2012. Similarly, the 23-year-old has lived up to generational talent and grown into one of the most dominant players in recent times. 

The Norwegian starlet, in his 'Barbarian King' moniker, was announced as a part of the game in a video shared on social video through the official account of Clash of Clans. In the clip, Haaland is teleported into the COC world where he shows off his footballing skills.

The special Haaland season will start on May 1 and run until May 31. In this period, users will be able to participate in multiple challenges to acquire the  Barbarian King character. Further, if gamers take down Haaland on the battlefield, they will get additional rewards and a place on the leaderboards.

As mentioned in the press release for this launch, Erling Haaland has been a massive fan of Clash of Clans. The 23-year-old was introduced to the game when was 10 and has since been an avid fan. Speaking about this partnership, Haaland expressed excitement and revealed how difficult it was for him to keep this news quiet.

He said, "It's been tough to keep this one quiet, but I'm excited to finally be able to talk about this epic partnership with Clash of Clans. I've been a huge fan of the game for a long time and know everything about it, so to appear as an in-game character is really cool."
