Sir Jackie Stewart, at the age of 85, reunited with the Tyrell 006, which he drove in his third and final F1 World Championship title during the 1973 season. Stewart appeared in the special demonstration run before the start of the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix. The pre-race programme was held to celebrate F1’s 75th anniversary year and the 60th anniversary of Stewart’s F1 debut. Stewart also marked his presence to commemorate the 10th anniversary of his charity Race Against Dementia, which was established in 2016 after the legend’s wife Helen’s diagnosis.

Stewart was seen in his racing uniform accompanied with a helmet, which had the signs of every living F1 title winner. The unique helmet will be used to raise funds for Stewart’s foundation. Stewart’s youngest son Mark, who is the Chairman of the Trustees of Race Against Dementia, divulged it took a year to get the signs of all 20 champions on the helmet. The Scottish, who became the world champions in 1969, 1971, and 1973, appeared in a chat with Reuters and shared his experience of riding the car. "You don't forget where first gear, fifth gear is. The car felt wonderful. I mean, we didn't go fast but the whole feeling of the car was great ... it was fun to do it," said the veteran.

According to sources, former German racing driver Michael Schumacher also signed the helmet. The German legend’s wife Corinna helped him sign it. The 56-year-old is away from public attention after his brain injury that happened in 2013.

Since then, he has been under continuous medical care at his home situated in Lake Geneva. Earlier, in March 2025, an insider revealed Schumacher is in no state to communicate verbally. His family maintains privacy and ensures nothing comes out in public regarding the legendary driver.
