During a heated contest between Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Thunder at Manuka Oval in the 2024 Big Bash League, off spinner Fabian Allen injured himself in an attempt to save a boundary as Sam Billings smashed Cameron Boyce for a four. As Sydney Thunder were chasing a target of 183 runs, Billings went down the ground and went over bowler’s head as the ball was heading towards the boundary during the first ball of the 12th over.

Watching the ball going near the boundary, Fabian Allen dived in front of the ball and tried to push the ball away from the boundary. However, the West Indian cricket failed to save a four as the ball went past the boundary line. Along with that, Allen was also seen in visible pain in his thighs after performing a dive. Notably, Fabian Allen left the field after suffering injury and was out for the whole match.
